For Appearances Sake Salon History

As the owner of  For Appearances Sake River Forest's Illinois' premier eco-friendly Aveda Concept Salon and Spa I am committed to my great staff, superior guest service, community, and client events.   I was always intrigued by how looking good made you feel good.  I knew deep down that health and beauty are one. I started out 30 years ago committed to perfecting my skills as a stylist but especially as a hair colorist.  I honed my technical and formula skills to a science, always driving myself to learn the newest and best techniques.  That quest for knowledge brought me great success in the industry as an educator traveling the country, and eventually became the Technical guru at Modern Salon Magazine the leading salon trade publication.  I did that in addition to running my salon for eleven years.  But my true quest was  for For Appearances Sake to offer clients a place to update their look, gather with friends, calm the spirit and relax from life's stresses. 24 years later that dream has come true here in River Forest... I look forward to meeting each and every new guest and serving our dear and loyal friends of For Appearances Sake.
